Embossing Tutorial How to double emboss

As promised here is the tutorial on the embossing

Okay here we go with a step by step on how to emboss with 2 embossing folders
I used Stampin' Up! Fancy Fan Folder and the Oval from Designer Frames a set of 2

1. using board cut an oval out where you want the designer oval to be
I used 3 layers of the backing from our dsp packs

2. attach this with temporary adhesive to the back of the embossing folder

Photo's aren't perfect as I took these on Thursday when the light was poor and really foggy outside

3. Attach the ovals you have cut out to the back of the Oval designer embossing folder
I used 3 layers again cut from the backing in our dsp packs

4. next step using the Big Shot and all tabs closed and only one cutting plate
place your cardstock inside the Fancy Fan embossing folder and place on the multipurpose plate then add the cutting plate over this and crank it through

This is what you will get

5. place the oval embossing folder over the area that is blank

6. place on top of the Multipurpose plate with all tabs closed as before and place the cutting plate over the top and crank it through the Big Shot

Ta Da ..... this is what you get

Decorate as desired

I used the Elegant Butterfly punch and Papillion Potpourri stamp for mine

and the Itty Banners Framelits and matching stamp set called Itty Bitty Banners

Here is a side view

Hope you have a go at this it is quite easy really

I would love to see what you do so do link back if you use the tutorial please

thanks for looking any questions? you know what to do..... email or call

Until next time
enjoy!

  10. Hi Peg,

What did you use to cut the oval? I believe that the large oval punch will cut the inside of the oval frame but not the outside. Did you use the new oval framelits from the spring mini?

    Thanks!

    Gorgeous card!

  14. Peg thanks so much for a great tutorial, it was easy to follow and worked a treat. I did this with my class ladies today and they loved it! Some of them have a Cuttlebug rather than a Big Shot and were asking what the "sandwich" would be - do you happen to know? Perhaps someone has done it that way and mentioned it to you?

  16. Thank you for sharing. I had tried to do this with another set of instructions and it just wasn't working. When I was creating my chipboard, I attached 2 layers of cereal box cardboard and had good luck. I used your technique using the designer frames shapes but embossing the 2nd time with another regular size embossing folder. It works, but the definition in the designer frames folders is lacking. I ran it through a 3rd time with the designer frames. This will add a new dimension to my card making. I am a big fan of white on white. This will give me more ideas to play with.

  22. Thank you for sharing this great tutorial! I found it on Pinterest. I am a SU! demonstrator in the U.S. and while I knew the basics of masking embossing folders I had never thought to combine the oval frame with a patterned texture. Your decorated card is lovely also!
